Physical DescriptionColorless non-lead glass with opaque lavender, amethyst, blue, tan, yellow, green, aqua enamels; fused, sandblasted, enameled, slumped. "Cut-out" four-legged animal; sections of translucent glass are fused together forming a "cut-out" animal with a pointed head, four-pronged tail and four legs with high-heeled shoes; entire outer side of body painted with enamels which will iridize during re-firing in a patchwork of shades of purple, green, gold and blue on the animal's back, stripes on the tail and legs and on the head in a gradation from gold on to purple; small "wells" are sandblasted into triangle shapes at the neck, small squares at the grid junctures on the back, and eyes, lips and teeth on the head, depressions are filled with non- iridizing, multi-colored enamels; entire flat piece is then slumped over a carved insulation brick to form standing creature; inscribed "cO 1985 Janet Kelman" on underside above back right leg.Provenance
