Physical DescriptionTumbler and Case. Colorless lead glass; blown, cut, encased enameled stamped metal foil; stamped leather. (a) Cylindrical form with panel-cut sides, with cut oval panels in relief on the panels, alternately with cut stars or fine hexagonal pointed facets; a long oval panel on the front, with a smaller oval at the top enclosing a stamped metal oval medallion, enameled yellow with blue forget-me-nots and green leaves, encircled by a ring of gold beading and a border of white loops, orange disks and green sprigs; the bottom with cut flat rim and concave center. (b) Cylindrical form, with hinged cover; the sides and top covered with thin stamped brown leather, the top with impressed circular medallion enclosing two love birds on an altar, with a wreath above, flaming urns at either side, two flaming conjoined hearts below, bushes growing at either side, within a beaded ring; the base a thin sheet of soft wood; the interior of the cover lined with light green paper and chamois; the sides of the base lined with chamois, and the outside of the rim covered in worn green paper; brass hook on the front; metal hinge at the back.
