Rim plain, with rounded lip; neck straight and tapering; base plain, with annular pontil mark (D. about 1.6 cm) partly removed by grinding; handle with circular cross section dropped onto wall at greatest diameter, drawn up and in, and attached to top of neck, with bifid thumb-rest at highest point. Body is decorated with panel defined at top by double linear-cut border that is horizontal for most of vessel’s circumference but descends in U-shaped curves below bottom of lower handle attachment, and at bottom by bottom of wall; panel contains four rows of hollow circular facets (D. about 1.2 cm), none of which touches its neighbors; top three rows have 15 facets, and bottom row has 14 facets. Thumb-rest has two horizontal linear cuts on each side.Provenance
