Physical DescriptionWineglass. Colorless, probably non-lead glass; free-blown, cut and enameled. Ten-sided cut bowl tapering at bottom to applied multi-knopped stem including faceted ring (annular) knop, seven- sided inverted baluster and faceted mushroom-knop, cusped ten- sided flat foot with petal cutting on base to small polished pontil mark; elaborate black enamel decoration: linear foliated scrolls encircling top of foot, on panels of stem, on lower bowl below cut horizontals and lunes, and, touched with gold, at top above scenic band also touched with gold; tree in foliage between scenes with hilly background, one with running dog, one with figures of two seated men, and a third with figure of seated man in left foreground and a group of buildings.Provenance
