Physical DescriptionTwo Miniature Scent Bottles with Gilded Decoration and Case. Transparent dark green lead glass, leather, metal alloy; blown, cut, gilded. Flasks: (a) Flat-sided shape of square cross-section; short, cylindrical neck with cut threading on the outside, ground inside for stopper; rounded shoulder with gilt rayed ornaments in corners; flat sides with gilt elaborate pagoda and exotic birds; corners faceted and outlined in gilt; chamfered base edge, gilt; polished, flat base. (b) Ground, tapered shank; cut, flat grip with gilt lines; slice-cut top, gilt. (c) Cylindrical, straight-sided shape with domed top; engraved swags and florets in two bands; engraved flowers on top. Case: rectangular, flat-sided shape with chamfered corners; hinged lid; covered with green shagreen; decorative gilt metal pins inserted into top and sides to form patterns; ribbed circular gilt metal push on front, to open a steel latch; two compartments inside, lined with red velvet; cover lined with red velvet.
