Physical DescriptionTranslucent dark amethyst non-lead glass body into grey/black lip, colorless applications; free-blown. Squared cylindrical shape with exaggerated lip; straight-sided slightly tapering body has four colorless "bits", hot applications laid in straight lines along the walls of the body extending into the neck area; after cracking off and reheating lip, vase was spun on the punty rod creating centrifugally a wide, flat, horizontal collar, rectangular in general shape with four extending rounded corners flaring from rectangular vessel opening, lip slightly iridized; base is ground flat; flat pontil; inscribed on bottom of base: "Thomas Buechner III cO Vitrix 1984".
