Physical DescriptionColorless non-lead glass; white metal; avocado green and black plastic; rubber; mold-blown by machine, sandblasted; a) consists of glass carafe, electric base. Carafe: bulbous shape; angled flared rim with pinched lip, angled so lip at tallest side; body slightly rounded out from rim to waist, tapered out from waist then tapered in to short cylindrical insert; measuring marks with "9/7/5" sandblasted into side of body; insert has flat circular base with hole in center, fits over hollow rubber stem with open top and closed bottom, stem extends down into electric base; base: cylindrical shape, depressed top with straight sides, top covered by shallow metal plate, top has hole in center for rubber stem of carafe to fit through, body of base slightly tapered in; metal plate with plastic dial on one side of body, "BCM PROCTOR SILEX" at top of plate, "D" to left of dial, "L" to right of dial; handle attached to body to right of metal plate, handle turned up, attached to indentation in side of carafe's rim opposite lip, handle can be released by flip switch at top of handle; electrical inlet with two plugs to right of handle on side of base's body; convex base with 4 feet, hole in center for screw, circular metal piece near one foot, "DO NOT IMMERSE/IN WATER" molded into base near edge, "DISCONNECT FROM/SUPPLY CIRCUIT/BEFORE SERVICING" molded into opposite side, "PROCTOR-SILEX, INC. PHILA, PA. /120V-575 W. A. C. ONLY UL [in circle]" and ""GUAR. EXP. JULY-73/MODEL NO. 70702" printed onto base around center screw; b) cylindrical shaped cover; raised ring knob, vertical ribs on exterior of ring; top of cover slightly convex with rounded edges; sides slightly tapered out to rim; rim tapered out then in, 2 notches in rim on opposite sides; cylindrical insert, 2 raised vertical lines by each rim notch; insert has 2 black push buttons opposite each other, halfway between rim notches, buttons attached to insert by metal pieces on interior.
