Physical DescriptionOpaque white and colorless non-lead glass, glass-ceramic (Pyroceram), blue decoration; stainless steel; black plastic; black painted metal; mold-blown by machine, screen printed, pressed; a) cylindrical shaped carafe; flared rim with machine finished edge and pinched lip, rim angled so lip at tallest end; metal collar around top of body; handle opposite lip, attached to metal collar by screws, is an upside down "L" shape, raised knob where bent down; body of carafe slightly tapered out to base, blue cornflower emblem printed onto both halves of body, "8 CUP/CORNING WARE" printed onto side below handle; "8/6" and measuring marks printed onto carafe interior below lip; flat circular base; b) cylindrical cover; round glass knob, top concave, bottom flared in then out to cover; top of cover dished in; sides straight, two small holes with oblong buttons through them, are opposite each other, buttons can be pushed in, are attached to metal pieces on interior; notch in one side of cover; c) cylindrical pump; tall hollow stem attached to domed circular base with flat top; bulge in stem halfway down from top; rim of base turned down; d) cylindrical filter basket; upper third of basket and base perforated with holes; base circular with five pointed star indentation; hole in center, open hollow tube attached to hole, tube extends up into basket; e) circular filter basket cover; is like a shallow dish; cover divided into concentric rings, rings rounded and perforated with holes; hole in center of cover; rim turned up.Provenance
