Physical DescriptionColorless non-lead glass; blown, cut, engraved, gilded. (a) Tall round funnel bowl, with gilt and engraved decoration: rim gilt, with a band of polished tiny ovals below; the side with an oval cut medallion containing the engraved and polished script monogram "CE" under an engraved and gilt crown, flanked by engraved and gilt eagles, scrolls, foliage, and a shell; bottom of the bowl with cut panels outlined with gilding, each with an oval polished facet; the stem composed of a faceted and gilt disk knop above a faceted ovoid inverted baluster knop containing numerous air beads, a basal faceted and gilt disk knop at the base; circular foot with cut and gilt-outlined radial panels, each with a polished oval facet; rough pontil marks underneath the foot and inside the bowl; (b) domed shape, with rounded brim and tapered rim; with a ring of cut and gilt-outlined radial panels, each with a polished oval facet; gilt band and ring of tiny oval facets on the sides; finial composed of a gilt spherical knop above a faceted ovoid true baluster containing multiple air beads, and a gilt faceted disk knop; rough pontil mark inside.
