Physical DescriptionTransparent green glass; parison pinched so that sides touched at mid-point, then perforated, inflated further (possibly in mold), tooled, wheel-engraved, and polished. Sculpture: shaped like flask with flattened oval body. Rim plain, with vertical slit on each side. On body, at center, front and back are indented, fused, and perforated; base plain, with ground and polished underside. Sides almost completely covered with unpolished wheel-engraved decoration: on each side, vertical groove runs from slit in rim to near perforation and second vertical groove runs from just below perforation to bottom, where it widens and is polished; two horizontal grooves run from right and left of perforation on one side to equivalent position on other side; except in immediate vicinity of perforation, grooves which are vertical at edges of the flat sides, but roughly parallel to edges and therefore transverse near perforation. Signed on bottom with diamond point: "ESTAS ABD TA |KUAO |TRA" (signature is impossible to read with confidence).Provenance
