Physical DescriptionColorless non-lead glass with slight iridescence, light and dark amethyst non-lead glass, dark gray metal joints, copper, metal alloy; pre-formed cast glass "stones" sor "jewels" are solder-tacked together, joints are then filled in with metal alloy, patinated, polished. Large tilted urn with flared rim and scalloped rim, elongated collared neck flattened spherical body tapering to narrow base; entire vessel formed of bands of glass disks (exterior side is convex, interior side is flat with mold mottling) assembled with metal; vessel is colorless with dark joints except for a band of wide light amethyst disks at the neck, at swollen mid-section of body is a double band of small (same size as colorless disks) dark amethyst disks separated by a row of colorless, near base is a second row of wide amethyst disks; narrow flat base is placed off-center to position vessel at an angle; inscribed on adjacent glass elements on base: "T. Carretta/ 9/93 and 1/1".Provenance
