Physical DescriptionBlack, light yellow, white, turquoise blue, bright red, and dull red (all opaque) glasses; rods of black, yellow, and white glass assembled and fused to form canes with square cross section; canes cut into slices and assembled, with monochrome blue and bright red rods, on matrix of dull red, and fused; upper surface and edges ground; upper surface also polished. Inlay: wing from viewer's right side of scarab or disk. Left side has semicircular notch at junction with body or disk; upper edge horizontal for two-thirds of length, then curves down to right and meets horizontal lower edge. Decoration consists of four horizontal rows of complete and incomplete square cane slices, each with prominent black inverted V inside narrower yellow inverted V, on white background; top row has eight slices, second row has eight complete and two incomplete slices, third row has eight slices, and bottom row has nine complete slices and one incomplete slice; below bottom row, border consisting of two contiguous strips, blue on left and bright red on right.
