Physical DescriptionDeep opaque amethyst (appearing black) lead glass; blown, sandblasted (using no stencils), diamond wheel engraved, polished by hand rubbing. Ovoid cylindrical vessel with thick carved walls; flat, lipless oval opening deeply inset into straight-sided walls that curve out from opening in relief to display overall scene of figures in profile--two horned masculine figures with short hair (one faces front right and is 3/4 length, bust of a third overlaps at base), each offers a bouquet of flowers to two facing winged figures with longer flowing hair (one is 3/4 length and wraps around a short end of the vessel, head and wing of second--with reaching hand--is at base and slightly behind taller figure), a third 3/4 length masculine figure (wrapping around one short end of vessel) faces the backs of the angels and extends an arm with a bouquet; overall semi-matte surface, relief has slightly modeled surface, background has "martelé" texture; ovoid base (with one long shallow notch) is ground flat; lightly engraved on base: "USCH 93".
