Physical DescriptionOpaque black, opaque reddish-brown, colorless, opaque yellow-green non-lead glasses; flameworked. Lifelike and life-sized insect with double-section body, three pairs of articulated legs, each leg has three short pulled points, one pair of legs extends forward from base of "horn" section, second and third pairs extending towards rear from body lobe; thick black section (forming head) pulled out into elongated curved and tapering "horn" (twice as long as body lobe) with pointed tip, slightly shorter, thinner, pointed lower "horn" (with short pulled points) extends from base of upper horn and curves upward; two applied reddish-brown eyes attached near base of lower "horn", short amber pincers extend downward and are placed over slightly longer pair of black antennae with ball tips, longer pair of black antennae curve outward from side; upper surface of ovoid body lobe of yellow-green flecked with black, lobe bisected by single impressed black line; underside of rear lobe swollen and decorated with broad rows of impressed horizontal lines; impressed on underside of forward section of body: "VC".Provenance
