Physical DescriptionHeavy clear glass; free-blown and/or half-pressed, cut and engraved. Thistle-shaped body with base having round shoulder and slightly concave center; base and body except for the rim cut in ten panels, rim of base hatched, a star on each panel of the bottom, quadruple diamonds and fan-like motives on upper part of body, interrupted by a medallion with the inscription: "Aus Dankbarkeit von C.S."; the bottom of the body contains a silver medal; the upper part shows a man in profile surrounded by an inscription: "SAMUEL HAHNEMANN NATUS MISENAE D. X. APRILIS MDCCLV. DOCTOR CREAT. ERLANGAE D.X. AUGUSTI MDCCLXXIX."; the reverse side has a device: "SIMILIA SIMILIBUS," surrounded by the inscription: "MEDICINAE HOMOEOPATHICAE AUCTORI DISCIPULI ET AMICI D.X. AUGUSTI MDCCCXXIX".Provenance
