Physical DescriptionColorless, black, orange non-lead glass, plastic, chrome plated metal, corrugated cardboard, borosilicate; mold-blown by machine, sandblasted, pressed; a) spherical shape; neck tapers out to rim; rim machine finished; metal band with two ridges around neck; detachable handle attached by metal band and two screws; handle has ridges on its two sides extending the length of the piece; neck rounds out to form body; "A/CENTURY/OF/PROGRESS/CHICAGO/1933" sandblasted onto body; base flat; "PYREX/41" sandblasted and old catalog number "75.106b" inscribed in black ink onto base; b) knob octagonal; top of lid, rim, and insert round; top of lid tapers out to rim; rim of greater diameter than insert, old catalog number "75.106a" written in black ink underneath rim; raised portion of rim forms top of notch taken out of insert; c) 3 rectangular boxes that nest together; outer box has no top or bottom, "George Southworth/CGW/Gregg Coll." written in black ink on side; inner boxes can be opened out so they are flat, the outer inner box has a label on its top that reads "PYREX/REG. U.S. PAT.OFF./1 CUP ROUND/INDIVIDUAL/1-TEA POT-81/TRANSPARENT WARE/MADE IN U.S.A/CORNING GLASS WORKS, CORNING, N.Y.," outer inner box also has old catalog number "75.106/a&b" written in black ink and "SAND/BLASTED" written in pencil on it.
