Physical DescriptionColorless non-lead glass, white metal, black plastic; mold-blown by machine, screen printed; a) cylindrical shaped carafe; rim tapered in to neck, machine finished edge with pinched lip, rim angled so lip at tallest end; cylindrical neck with metal band around it; handle opposite lip, upside "L" shape, end turned in, attached to neck by metal band and screw; body of carafe slightly flared out to bottom, bottom tapered in to base, black design around circumference of carafe near bottom, design of vertical lines with three circles at each end, design break under handle, clear label with "C/A/U/T/I/O/N" and "TO AVOID BREAKAGE/DO NOT BOIL DRY OR/HEAT POT WHEN EMPTY/DO NOT USE-IF CRACKED/OR SCRATCHED/DO NOT CLEAN WITH/MATERIALS THAT SCRATCH/DO NOT USE ON HIGH FLAME/OR ON OPEN ELECTRIC ELEMENTS/DO NOT BUMP" printed on it below handle, "PYREX®/MADE IN U. S. A. " printed on to side of carafe below handle; flat circular base, "8008-2" written in black marker in center; b) circular cover; round knob with concave top, bottom of knob flared in then out to cover; center of cover flared up to base of knob, area has rough texture, raised ring around circumference of center area, portion of cover between ring and rim smooth, rim turned up; cylindrical insert on underside of cover, insert exterior has three raised bumps; notch taken out of one side of cover and insert.
