Physical DescriptionShagreen Case. Green leather, metal alloy; gilded. Rectangular, flat-sided shape with chamfered corners; hinged lid; covered with green shagreen; decorative gilt metal pins inserted into the top and sides to form patterns: an oval on the top, with sets of four at the corners; straight lines on the sides; elaborate geometric patterns on the ends; the base of the cover with a gilt metal and white-enameled band, inscribed "L'AMITIE'/EN. FAIT/LE.PRIX"; ribbed circular gilt metal push on the front, to open a steel latch; two compartments inside, lined with red velvet; the cover lined with red velvet.
