Physical DescriptionTransparent dark green non-lead glass; blown, mold-blown, cut, engraved. (a) Large, bell-shaped bowl; polished, flat rim; the sides deeply engraved with a continuous woodland scene, with two stags and a doe leaping (to the right) over rocks, with trees and heavy undergrowth in the background; cut panels at the base of the bowl; heavy stem, with rounded section above a flared true baluster knop, panel-cut and faceted, a faceted flattened ball knop, and a panel-cut and faceted exaggerated true baluster at the base of the stem; thick foot, with panel-cut disk above the panel- and petal-cut rim; polished, flat bottom. (b) Complex, domed shape, with elaborate finial; the top of the finial flared, and panel-cut, with pointed tip; waisted, panel-cut section below; the cover mold-blown, and hollow throughout, with a flattened, panel-cut section at top, above a waisted section ending in a ledge, above a bulbous section with deeply engraved continuous woodland scene, with two stags and a doe running to the right, rocks, trees, and bushes; waisted, panel-cut section below, terminating in a bulbous, panel-cut rim; tapered brim, with polished, flat edge.Provenance
