Physical DescriptionTransparent colorless glass with green tint, with many minute bubbles and some blobs of unfused sand; free-blown, tooled and enameled. (a) Almost cylindrical body with pushed-up base and very rough pontil mark, applied foot ring; (b) set-in domed cover with large angular knob, flattened knob and "mushroom" finial and at inside rough pontil mark; on the body the coat-of-arms of the Schwachheim: on a blue shield a pelican with red and green wings, feeding three small pelicans, blue and white crest the center of which shows a blue morion, surmounted by blue and white wings flanking a 10-pointed star; above the crest the initials: "G. S.", on the back the date: "ANNO DOMINI 1662"; seven quartered gilded diamonds (rubbed off) with spirals and dots in white, blue and red are placed on the back; below rim a gilded band framed by two beaded lines in white; four more diamond-stars on the cover, white dashes on flange and knobs, dots on the finial.Provenance
