Physical DescriptionCovered Beaker. Pale amber glass; free-blown, pattern-molded parts, enameled and gilded. (a) Cylindrical form with three applied hollow ribbed- cushion feet; decoration on tumbler: at rim, broad gilt band above two rows of tiny white dots; on sides, obverse, large white cypher picked out in black within large wreath of leaves and, at top and bottom, large flower in gold, blue, henna and white; reverse, a coat of arms in green, brown, henna, yellow, white, blue and black; on one side, two star motifs elaborated with blue, yellow and henna dots and white curlicues, "ANNO" at center left, "DOMINI" at center right; on other side, the same motif and inscription "1671" (16 at left and 71 at right). (b) Set-in flanged low-domed cover with applied knob having ribbed stemmed-knop with applied small ball finial; decoration on cover: blue on stem of ball finial, opaque white wide lines on ribs of cushion knop, blue with row of white beads on stem, and white-rayed henna on base of knob; on dome, white within gold cusps forming "star" at center, four equidistant motifs with white curlicues and henna, blue and yellow dots; on flange, henna and white rays between points of gild diamonds.
