Physical DescriptionCup with Inscriptions. Almost colorless, with green tinge; very many tiny bubbles; decorated in brown. Blown; stained. Cup: cylindrical. Rim plain, with rounded lip; wall vertical, but curving in at bottom; base plain, with low kick; pontil mark circular (D. 1.8 cm). Decorated on exterior only: two registers divided by rather uneven continuous horizontal border (W. 0.2-0.3 cm). Upper register (W. 1.9 cm), just below rim, is divided into three roughly equal panels by two or (in one case) three identical motifs placed side by side; each motif has short vertical line emerging from column of three solid triangles; each panel has two words in Kufic script. Lower register (W. 6.6 cm) occupies entire space between border and bottom of wall; it is divided into three panels by single vertical lines extending downward from dividers in upper register; each panel contains bifurcated stem supporting palmette with five leaves, flanked on either side by word repeating inscription in upper register.
