Physical DescriptionPreserving Jar with Lid and 2 Cover Components. Aqua non-lead glass; mold-blown, lid pressed, wrought iron clamp. Cylindrical shape, with U-shaped groove in collar for seal; mold-seams on each side from neck to base; obverse embossed: "MILLVILLE/ATMOSPHERIC/FRUIT JAR" forming an oval; reverse: "WHITALL'S PATENT/JUNE 18TH 1861" forming an oval; base plain; pressed circular lid with inscription on top surface: "WHITALL'S PATENT/JUNE 18TH 1861"; iron yoke has thumb screw in center to tighten.
Provenance
