Physical DescriptionDeep red non-lead glass with blue and yellow striations cased in colorless; blown, sandblasted, polished, copper electroformed and patinated. Compressed spherical; thickly blown bulbous shape has been ground and polished flat at the top leaving a thin-edged lipless opening flush with the surface; shoulder, body and foot have been deeply carved creating a softly-curved organic form contrasted in areas by sharply delineated edges; all surfaces are covered with copper beginning with the shoulder except where noted; shoulder has been carved into two loose, concentric steps; body has six encircling raised discs with uncovered, polished surfaces cut with a unique jagged design that transverses the diameter and is copper covered; below the intersections of the discs is a dimpled area (six); solid narrow foot tapers slightly and is carved into two rings; copper stops at beveled base edge revealing the layer of colorless.
