Physical DescriptionColorless lead glass; blown, cut, engraved, polished. (a) Curved lip opening ground and polished flat with beveled edge, surface of spherical body has been cut away leaving two cloud shapes in high relief; in large cloud, copper-wheel engraved in Hochschnitt technique "stylized" figure of racing centaur with outstretched arms flanked by two six-pointed stars followed by scorpion with curved, pointed tail; small cloud contains in relief half torso of an angel with outstretched arms and clasped hands reaching toward a comet with an extended tail, two small stars flank comet; narrow, low, cut, solid, circular foot with ground and polished base. (b) Solid domed stopper with six-pointed star stone-wheel carved in relief with linear rays extending nearly to edge of dome, base of dome deeply inset with short, solid, slightly tapering vertical flange.
