Physical DescriptionTransparent amethyst glass with minute bubbles and some impurities; slight wear marks; free-blown and enameled. Body slightly tapering to base with kick-up and rough pontil mark, applied foot ring; on the obverse the coat-of-arms of Elector Johann Georg III of Saxony, surrounded by two branches, surmounted by a crown and bordered by blue and white scrolls: above the shield, in the center, the initials: "I.G.D.3.H.Z.S. I.C.U.B.C." (for Iohann Georg Der 3 Herzog Zu Sachsen Juelich Cleve Und Berg Churfuerst), below the rim gilded band framed by two white lines (gold rubbed off), on the foot ring a white dash border.Provenance
