Physical Description(Base glass) transparent green, with bubbles; (cane slices): (1) opaque red, white, green, and light yellow; (2) opaque green and light yellow; and (3) black, opaque white, and red. Base glass formed around rod; cane slices picked up, fused, and marvered; possibly ground and polished. Cylinder with, at center, tubular hole (D. 0.45 cm) that extends to within about 0.2 cm of closed end. Side is straight and slightly narrower at open end than at closed end, which is shaped like very shallow cone, with irregular depression at center. Base glass (Th. 0.4–0.55 cm) is completely covered with cane slices (Th. 0.2–0.25 cm) arranged in 12 somewhat irregular rows of slices parallel to axis of cylinder and extending over end; six rows consist of square or diamondshaped slices with red dot at center, surrounded by four-sided band composed of four white squares alternating with four green squares, four-sided yellow band, and four-sided red band; these alternate with six rows of square or diamond-shaped slices containing checkerboard pattern of 18 green and 18 yellow squares. One row of checkerboard slices is interrupted by single oval slice with black dot at center surrounded by white circle inside red circle. At closed end, one slice in each row, considerably distorted, meets center. Interior of hole is light grayish brown and matte.
