Physical Description(a) Convex surface silver over brown, with green corrosion products; concave surface light to dark gray, with some green corrosion products; cast or beaten, silvered. Circular metal plate, with slightly curved surface. Outer (convex) surface silvered; inner (concave) surface plain. (b) colorless; blown, with ground and polished edge, and gilded, with scratched details. Disk, with gilded and painted decoration on one surface: at center, Cupid standing, with head in profile facing left (surviving parts consist of head, left shoulder, and one wing); to left, two parallel lines, almost vertical but inclined slightly to left; above and behind Cupid's head, areas of dark reddish purple (now almost black); small parts of other gilded motifs survive, but defy identification.Provenance
