Physical DescriptionColorless non-lead glass; blown, trailed, pincered, diamond-point (scratch) engraved. (a) Cylindrical, straight-sided bowl; diamond-point (scratch) engraved decoration on the sides: an undulating border with trefoils, above a band of undulating lines forming linked ovals; a wide band below, with four rounded, undecorated panels, separated by waisted panels with stylized foliate motifs; another band of undulating lines below, forming linked ovals, and a band of vertical ovals at the bottom; trailed cordon around the base; slightly convex bottom, with rough pontil mark in the canter, and three hollow, vertically-ribbed ball feet applied to circular pads; two applied loop handles on the sides of the vessel, with trailed and waffle-pincered decoration; (b) Squat, domed, circular shape; the rounded top with diamond-point (scratched) decoration in circular bands: a ring of radial ovals, an undulating band with trefoils, and another, reversed, on the tapered sides; applied finial formed as a hollow, flattened ball, with disk and swirled decoration; folded brim, tapered rim; rough pontil mark inside, under the finial.Provenance
