Physical DescriptionOpaque double-walled "mercury" glass (silver on outside, gold on inside) enclosed in bubbly clear glass; free-blown, cased, pattern-molded and enameled. Covered goblet to be used as container for cigarettes and matches (?); ring foot with concave bottom and rough cemented pontil mark, spool-like stem, cylindrical beaker finial; the encased silver layer is fluted, on the outside - in frosted silver enamel - an arcade frieze below rim and four panels framed by wreaths and bearing alternating pendants and leaves, two flying birds underneath the pendants; arcades and festoons form a similar pattern on the beaker-finial.Provenance
