The drinking glasses on view in this case are functional, but they are not examples of commercial design. They are crafted objects, designs made by hand in limited numbers. The intent of these objects is not to reflect the best design of, or use for, a drinking glass, but to offer a personal alternative that addresses the more emotional values and sensibilities of the artist and the user.

Physical DescriptionGoblet, "Copa de Ceremonia II (Ceremonial Cup II). Colorless non-lead glass, transparent pale green, gold and iridescent lustres; blown cup and foot, sandblasted and lustred flameworked stem; assembled with Loctite (u-v) adhesive. Tall (but smaller than "Copa de Ceremonia I") "Venetian style" goblet with ornate stem; deep bowl with optic ribbing, fire polished rim adhered to elaborate flameworked stem consisting of central column with decorative extensions protruding at parallel right angles; stem comprised (from top) of five flattened knops (varying sizes) with a extended pair of small crimped leaves, two gold lustred pointed thorns, a circular section from which a long four leafed branch with alternating green and sandblasted rings extends out and downward, next a gold lustred teardrop shape, two flattened knops, straight section of gold lustre from which a second four leafed branch extends out and upward, next two narrow sandblasted bands, stem ends with a flattened knop adhered to another flattened knop topping a slightly conical hollow base; no pontil.
