Physical DescriptionJug. Transparent, in reflected light pink, in transmitted light opalescent pinkish-amber glass (at inside opal-white); free- blown and cased, with applied and tooled parts and decoration. Plain conical folded foot with rough pontil mark, short convex stem of clear glass supporting a dolphin with tail turned upwards, the end of the tail forming the lip of the jug; ear- shaped handle joining top of tail and body, at the latter turning into a shell-like motif; applications of clear glass: crimped rigaree band along handle, crimped collar around top at stem, crimped mouth and fins of dolphin; applied black and yellow eyes; body of dolphin is ribbed; the colored glass is cased in clear glass.
