Physical DescriptionClear very bubbly glass with many impurities and green tinge; wear marks at base; free-blown, enameled and gilded. Almost cylindrical body slightly tapering at top and bottom, pushed up base with rough pontil mark, applied foot ring; enamel decoration: the frieze on the body includes on the obverse a gentleman on horseback proceeding to the left, clad in a grey coat and hat, on the left a woman in dark brown, blue and white, greeting the gentleman with a bunch of flowers which she holds in her left hand; both are standing on a green grass strip, between them three small lilies-of-the-valley; above them: "Anno 1619"; below the six, a small motif in white consisting of spiral dots and dashes; on the reverse a very large flower stalk including two stalks of lily-of-the-valley flanking two geometricized brown leaves as well as a green stem holding a blue blossom, below the lily-of-the-valley stems and leaves in yellow, blue, white, red and brown, the stalk is flanked by two yellow columns with a spiral pattern in brown and blue, blue horizontals at top and at bottom; the whole scene is flanked at top by a gilded band accompanied by white and blue plain lines and a white reversed arcade band, and at bottom by two lines in red, yellow and blue; white dashes on the foot ring.
