Physical DescriptionColorless glass with metal and plaster; blown, applied, cut, assembled. Large cut glass lamp has wide foot with cut "star" on bottom, narrows slightly before widening to slender hollow ovoid body, narrows again to metal neck, with large ovoid top portion for oil. Lamp has two sulphides in the body: one of Shakespeare with the words "BARRE Fx" below, and the other Sir Walter Scott. Lamp has original metal burner at top with the words, "HINKS & SON/PATENT"near wick.
