Physical DescriptionStar Inlay Tile and Pyramidal Bead. (I) Star cane of opaque yellow center cased with translucent deep blue, five opaque white rays all in a translucent deep blue ground backed with similar glass with opaque white striations, all surfaces repolished recently; mosaic glass or millefiori technique. (II) Translucent deep blue glass backed with opaque medium blue; cast, polished and drilled. Four sides ground and polished, base has thin fused layer of medium blue glass, two thin holes parallel with base piece through two sides of the bead. One surface retains a geometric pattern which may suggest that the bead was initially gilt.Provenance
