Physical DescriptionTranslucent deep blue and opaque white glass with canes of opaque yellow, opaque brick-red and translucent amethyst in the form of scale patterns, bubbly with some patches of weathering on surface; mosaic glass technique. Fragment preserves body of fish, front portion appears to be cut to receive head while the blue glass band forming the back of the fish is chipped away, the body is composed of alternating bands of scales, the uppermost composed of a red, yellow and predominately amethyst center with the second row being a red amethyst with predominately white center, eight such rows alternate; the belly of the fish is delineated with a wide white band, the scale pattern has been cut away to receive a long delicate pectoral fin composed of alternating bands of brick-red and yellow glass.
