Physical DescriptionWall is almost vertical, but it tapers, and it thickens at bottom, evidently at junction with base. Wall is decorated in relief (Th. 0.1–0.15 cm). Near upper edge of fragment, notched horizontal rib forms upper border of frieze. Surviving part of frieze has parts of two fantastic animals. Animal on right faces left, with its head down, close to front foot. Head has countersunk eye, pointed snout, and long, curving horn, which ends in tassellike feature; neck extends up, over, and down like inverted U, and it has notched outlines; body is narrow, with back and belly indicated by parallel cuts; back leg is indicated by part of haunch and foot; long, straight wing extends up and back from shoulder, represented by broad, notched line; it terminates in head with countersunk eye, beak, and oval ear. Animal on left faces right. It has large oval head, seen from above, with countersunk eyes; its snakelike body is represented by single notched line; it appears to have two legs, one with tear-shaped haunch and roughly triangular foot, and notched tail.
