Physical Description"Animal Silhouette Sample Box #2000-6". (a) Fused murrine, plate glass, cord, colored pencil on mat board, wood, paint; assembled. Rectangular box made of colorless plate glass with wood backing board painted white. Box holds thirty opaque blue glass square cane slices showing various silhouettes of animals in white. Rectangular label affixed above slices reads, "MAJESTIC / The World's Largest Ship". Rectangular label affixed beneath slices reads, "BYRD ANTARCTIC EXPEDITION / RADIOGRAM / RECEIVED BY / The New York Times". Labels and canes outlined in red, yellow, and blue colored pencil. Edges of plate glass painted white and red. One half of a metal wall mount affixed to back of box. Four stickers affixed to back of box: one reading "#05 Ebeltoft", one reading "2000- / 6", one reading "DATE / Spreckels Sugar - Sea Island Sugar", and one in the shape of an ornate frame. Box signed "© 2000 Marquis" on front and back; the back also shows a black thumbprint. (b) One half of a metal wall mount.Provenance
