Physical Description"Murrine Tile Sample Box #12-1". (a) Fused murrine, plate glass, colored pencil on mat board, wood, paint; assembled. Rectangular box made of colorless plate glass with wood backing board painted white. Box holds twenty square glass cane slices of various patterns. Rectangular label affixed above slices reads, "Gee! We are going to see / real, live Indians >> / Here is a real Out West Outing . / the Indian . detour, Grand Canyon, Colorado Rockies, California.". Rectangular label affixed beneath slices reads, " Western Electric / SINCE 1869 MAKERS OF ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT". Labels and canes outlined in colored pencil. Edges of plate glass painted with splatters of blue, red, yellow, orange, green, and gray paint. One half of a metal wall mount affixed to back of box. Several stickers and stamps affixed to back of box: one stamp reading "FRAGILE", one sticker reading "HANDLE / WITH CARE", one sticker reading ""gee! We're / going..." / #12-1", one sticker showing a sheep wearing a suit jacket, hat, glasses, and reading a newspaper, two purple US postage stamps, and one sticker reading "12-1". Box signed "© 2012 Marquis" on front and back; the back also shows a black thumbprint. (b) One half of a metal wall mount.
