The Blaschkas used preformed parts when they created some of their models. These parts include anemone bodies, sea jelly domes, and the central disks of sea stars. The Blaschkas used many different techniques to achieve great variety in shape, size, color, and ornate detail.

Physical DescriptionPart of Glass Model of Marine Animal. Colorless glass, adhesive; flameworked, assembled. Colorless glass dome set inside larger colorless glass dome; flat bottom with 1.5 cm opening. Four trails applied on exterior wall of inner dome, which has small hole at its top.
