Physical DescriptionFragment of Beaker with Figure. Almost colorless, with yellowish tinge; decorated in gold, purplish red, red, white, and green. Blown; gilded, enameled. Fragment of beaker. Upper wall (Th. 0.1 cm) tapers, with very slight concave profile. Decoration consists of parts of two registers. Upper register consists of thin, slightly purplish red band (W. more than 1 cm) on inside and traces of gilded inscription on outside, which has red lower border. Lower register contains head and torso of man with outlines and details in red; his head is turned slightly to proper right; his face has outline, eyebrows, eyes, nose, and mouth drawn in red, without additional colors; he wears turban indicated by parallel white stripes; he also wears long-sleeved garment with red collar and trim, and green band on proper left arm; behind his arm, schematic curvilinear motifs; traces of gilding on face, clothing, and background motifs.Provenance
