Interpretive NotesPattern Description:
Roughly twice a year PYREX introduced promotional items. These items centered on events deemed important to women managing a home. New promotional patterns were generally unveiled for the spring/wedding/Mother’s Day season as well as for the winter holiday season. Promotional patterns were released on a limited number of pieces and were usually only available for a short time.
It is important to know that not all promotional pieces have an assigned name from Corning and that many of the names represented are unofficial names made popular by the collector’s community. Even without official names large seasonal marketing campaigns were organized for the advertisement of the promotional patterns.
“Beautiful, Useful, Always Welcome…Pyrex Gifts,” proclaimed a 1961 advertisement for the holiday season promotional items. The new Golden Pine Casserole retailed for $5.95. Included in this price was the two-quart Square Space-Saver Casserole, decorated clear lid and cradle
