Physical DescriptionGreenish colorless glass; opaque yellow, opaque white, and greenish-colorless canes; translucent purple, opaque white, and greenish-colorless canes; greenish-colorless chips; sections of canes and (very few) chips cast; gob of greenish-colorless inserted in cast blank and inflated; after re-heating, the two elements inflated further; parison transferred to pontil and rim finished at glory hole. Bowl: shallow; rim plain, finished at glory hole; wall splays slightly and then curves inward to bottom; plain base with low kick; pontil mark. Decorated with (a) six rows of opaque yellow, opaque white, and greenish-colorless canes, alternating with (b) six rows of translucent purple, opaque white, and greenish-colorless canes, and with several greenish-colorless chips filling gaps, all radiating from center of base and swirled during inflation. Details of canes: (a) circular opaque yellow rod cased with opaque white, greenish-colorless, opaque white, greenish-colorless, opaque white, greenish-colorless, opaque white, and greenish-colorless; the cane was pressed into ribbed dip-mold after application of final opaque white overlay so that this layer has milled surface; (b) circular translucent purple rod cased with opaque white, greenish-colorless, opaque white, greenish-colorless, opaque white, greenish-colorless, opaque white, and translucent purple; the cane was pressed into ribbed dip-mold after application of final opaque white overlay so that this layer has milled surface.Provenance
