Physical DescriptionFragment of Bowl. Almost colorless, with yellowish tinge; decorated in brown. Blown; stained. Fragment of hemispherical bowl. Rim plain, with rounded lip. Wall (Th. 0.1 cm) curves smoothly down and in; exterior has faint horizontal groove, made by tooling, just below lip. Decorated on interior only. Just below lip, horizontal band (W. 0.5 cm); below this, band of Kufic or pseudo-Kufic inscription, perhaps including repetitions of the letters kaf, ’alif, and kaf, perhaps an abbreviation of the word baraka (blessing). The letter ’alif terminates in a foliate scroll.
