Physical DescriptionJar (Amphoriskos). Translucent deep blue glass, bubbly, some pitting on surface with iridescence in pin-prick bubbles, opaque yellow and turquoise glass trails; core-formed, trail decorated and tooled. Slightly flared rim tooled out from neck, highlighted with applied trail of yellow left in relief; wall bends into long cylindrical neck before spreading out into rounded shoulder and bending down into almost straight-sided conical body; yellow trail applied under rim wound four times around neck and two times on shoulder where a thick trail of turquoise is applied and alternates with it about five times forming a wide register below shoulder; this register is alternately dragged up and down thirty-six times, the thick base is marked with a thin trail of turquoise wound twice, all trails are marvered in; two heavy translucent blue trails are applied opposite each other in the center of the shoulder and are pulled up parallel with the neck, looped over, and attached below the rim to form handles; a small pad of blue glass is applied to form the base and flattened.
