Physical Description"Tiger Swallowtail with Gold Mica", marble. Colorless and multi-colored glass; gold mica flakes, flameworked and hot-worked. Large marble with a black core with gold flakes and an outer pattern of yellow white, red and yellow glass. This marble has a clear core, rolled in black powdered glass and then rolled in uncommonly-gold mica flakes. It was then dipped into the furnace for a layer of clear. Stripes of colored glass were then applied and raked with a tungsten pick. It is then rounded and dipped into the furnace for the final clear coating, then further rounded using both graphite and cherry wood molds.Provenance
