Physical DescriptionAmethyst tint glass; mold-blown; plain lip, pontil mark. Obverse: Designs on large oval panel; American Eagle, head turned to left; shield with five vertical and one horizontal bar on breast; wings partly raised. Feathers on eagle very fine and above shield are indicated by tiny dots. Thunderbolt (three arrows) in eagle's left talons, small olive branch in right. Fourteen small stars (circular with indented points) above eagle in semi-circular row of eleven and three above that at centre. Below eagle tiny oval frame, faintly beaded, containing narrow rib in centre. Reverse: large scroll medallion covering entire panel and in centre upright branch with eleven leaves - possibly intended as olive branch. Large convex pearl ornament at top of panel. Edges: large circular beading with heavy vertical medial rib.
