This vase is inscribed “Special Exhibit” on the base, signifying that Tiffany selected it for exhibition; it is possible the vase was exhibited at the 1915 Panama-Pacific International Exposition in San Francisco.
Physical DescriptionFavrile "Cypriote" Vase. Bluish-green glass, rust-colored iridization; blown, iridized. The vase is roughly ovoid-shaped with a slightly undulating rim. The vase’s interior is blue-green glass, and its exterior surface is rust-colored and pitted with swirling iridescence in rainbow hues.
