Physical DescriptionSculpture, "Marquiscarpa #95-5". Opaque black, yellow, green, red, and white glass; fused, blown murrine, fused and slumped murrine, ground, bonded, assembled. Abstract boat-shaped form with scalloped rim and base; boat form is joined to a tall conical foot with a depressed, round, pillow-like knop. Boat-shaped form is made of yellow dots and washes of a yellow checkerboard pattern set within a black matrix; decorative cane slices (two small white stars, a white and green dollar sign, a shooting star with rainbow tail, a multicolored teapot in a pink matrix, and a MARQUIS signature cane slice) are embedded within this top form. The knop is made of four-sided yellow canes with black centers; canes are arranged both singularly and in groups of four and set within a green matrix. Conical foot is made of white shapes set within a yellow and red mottled matrix; thick black trails applied to top and bottom of foot. Conical base is secured to knop with silicone.Provenance
