Former Collection Christie's, Geneva - 1985
The Marquetry Vase with Water Lilies was owned by a Virginia family, who received the vase as a gift in the late 1980s. The vase was sold at auction at Christie's, Geneva, Switzerland, in 1985, and still retains the sticker from that sale. The Christie's sales catalogue mentions that at the time of the sale, only two other versions of this vase were known to exist, and are located in the Museum der Angewandte Kunst, Vienna, Austria, and the Malmӧ Museum, Malmӧ , Sweden. A third has been located at the Kunstgewerbemuseum, Dresden, Germany. The Malmӧ vase was exhibited in 1902 at the Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs Modernes in Turin, Italy.
